IMPORTANCE OF MAINTAINING A BUILDING ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (BEMS)
The BEMS is the best tool in the challenge to reduce energy consumption. It can give real time values of energy use and the functions to make manual or automated change to keep energy use in line with an energy strategy. The BEMS is the authority to manage the building and its systems under the administration of the building operators.
We understand the challenges and have a full line service and maintenance operation to keep the BEMS fully functional and to advise additions and enhancements for improved performance. There is no such thing as a standard BEMS, from conception it is engineered exclusively to meet the application, but it does not need to stop there. The BEMS can be modified or expanded to incorporate change and meet the challenges.
We can undertake a full energy survey to assess building performance and prioritise a strategy to deliver superior energy efficiency. The key to any energy strategy is accurate information, which can be provided by Intelligent Metering and Targeting (IMAT) and this is most cost-effective when added to the BEMS. This is further benefited by analysing the information provided and using the results to update or change the BEMS control philosophy.
The basis of dependable building management and operation is a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) scheme, which is a bespoke plan we create for each BEMS to track the progress of service and establish a record of the BEMS operation.
